A timeless silhouette that we felt needed a huge upgrade. We have all seen the “premium” & “exotic” leather customizers have used over the years, hell even the original manufacturer has offered “premium” leather…but let’s be honest, it’s not premium at all.

Our J1 Kit, does what OEM manufactures and customizers will never do because it’s about making a huge profit, not giving your client what they deserve.

We spent months perfecting this pattern and it drove us nuts fixing all the issues with this “mass produced” pattern.

Originally we wanted folded edges throughout the entire shoe. After making 3 different versions, we loved the folded edges but hated the fit. We took a step back and we decided with the original patterns, which have “raw” edges, but add the fine details that the original shoes never came with; painted edges.

NOTE: You don’t have to paint the edges, but it’s definitely worth the time.

**NOTE: Kit does NOT include the Last or Sole**

Let’s get into the fine details of what’s included:

  • Complete J1 Pattern with markers
  • Genuine Italian Pebbled Cow Leather (Black/Royal) – Engineered (Inspected, Blocked, Split and Heat laminated) specifically for the J1 pattern
  • Genuine Italian Cow Leather (Black) – One of the softest leathers we’ve found.
  • Heat Activated Heel Counters
  • Foam Blocker for Quarter
  • Foam Blocker for Tongue
  • Lasting Board

Comes with video instructions but PLEASE remember this is an intermediate to advance kit. We are not saying a beginner can not put this kit together, but if you have the patience and really studying the patterns, make some test pairs before making your final pair with this leather, your success will be much greater.

Making shoes takes a lot of practice and time, so we can’t stress enough to make sample after sample after sample. Save each sample, study them, see what you like and don’t like. You evolve your craft by doing, but also reflecting. There’s no “Right Way” to make a shoe. Footwear design and construction has some basic fundamentals, but the footwear craft can’t evolve if people like you don’t try different techniques…even if it’s NOT the “Right Way.”

You provide the last, sole, hard work, glue and sewing thread to create your masterpiece.
